Greetings from Bali
A lot has happened in the weeks we were in Nepal & India.. I'm excited to see our new office here. We call it the "Beach Office" to differentiate from the "Warehouse Office".
Last week I was telling you about our last days in India. Our first days in India we found ourselves in an goddamn awful hotel, the last days in India's finest: the Raj West End in Bangalore, rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. If you missed it you can catch up here.
Whilst travelling from place to place, we have been receiving daily updates from Ringo and Bondan (our guys in Bali) as to the renovations progress.. our plan is to make the most beautiful place possible to work - and each evening we had a progress report and pictures. Hopefully we can attract the cool talented young people to come and work for us (and maybe for you).
We are recruiting staff right now, all day everyday interviewing young bright people. We will train a team of young people to understand the marketing methods of Europe.. to give careful consideration, attention to detail and with genuine passion - we believe that takes time and talent, and that is simply difficult to find in time pressed Europe. A successful online business is a battle for attention.. of course you need excellent products, without that you have nothing, without good (cost effective) marketing your perfect products will not sell..
Today I dragged myself away from the new office to check on progress at AW warehouse, just up the road. I'm introduced to the latest recruits, we are expanding and the warehouse is totally crammed again. A container will be loaded to go to the UK this weekend and next week another to our Slovakia warehouse. All the staff here are interested in the new business starting nearby, they wish us well.. But that's not all. In Bali a business must officially start with a ceremony.. and that ceremony must be on an auspicious date. All the key people must be there, the local village head person, staff and priest.
Ringo and Made (our export manager) consult the Balinese calendar to determine which is the best date. Every office in Bali has this calendar and we often have to consult it.
It's very complicated choosing a date. On the 9th there is a risk the business might suffer a fire in the future, on the 11th it is not good for the structure of the building.. but the 10th which is also Easter Monday and a good day for new beginnings.. seems to be perfect. I tell Ringo that this is important to do - and seems right to me... and he is absolutely delighted. Right now he is scribbling down a list of things to be done and joyfully calling the priests and people that do this kind of thing. 3pm in the afternoon is deemed the best time.. so now the wheels are in motion.. All very Ancient Wisdom.
Apparently, we will have to wear traditional dress, it should be interesting.. Full report next week
Meanwhile, it's Easter in Europe..
I trust your business is running well.. and wish you all the best for the future. Of course, this is a good time to reflect on new ideas and new beginnings.. why not check out our new products, these beautiful Natural Teak Display, and our unique Bamboo Display, this bamboo display will look amazing with the Hop Hare Socks. and if bathroom products are your niche, you can't miss out on Bath Salts in Vials.
Lots of deals to inspire you to grow your business to fresh heights.
After all (Ringo tells me) it is a great auspicious time to start something new. We will ask the priests to make offerings to bring blessings to the business but also blessings on you our customers.
So from everyone here in Bali, we wish you a wonderful Easter.. lot's of blessings, love, cute bunnies and of course copious amounts of chocolate!
Thanking you as always for your support (and reviews if you have time).
Take care
