David's AW News: Back to Bali / Top Picks
Greetings from the AW warehouse in Ketewel, Bali
Our pet love birds.. remind me of something beginning with "V". See below for my personal top picks.
I just arrived. On Wednesday I took Turkish airways from Malaga to Istanbul arriving at 7pm then at 2am (Thursday) took a 12 hour night flight to Denpasar, Bali. Arriving because of the time difference 7pm Thursday evening.. Ringo and Bondhan were waiting as usual at the arrivals and escorted me to the villa - on the way giving me a full debrief on what's been happening. I slept immediately.. because I didn't sleep much on the flight, it was full of families with excited small children running about. Then wake up excited to get to work.. but first things first.
Last week I was telling you my very positive plans on thinking big in 2025 without asking Mr AI.. if you missed it you can catch up here.
But first things first in Bali.. before work it's time for breakfast. And Ringo likes to prepare a real Indonesian traditional breakfast.
This is Nasi Goreng.. Chicken Fried Rice with an egg on top, served with a spicy sambal sauce, two mini kebabs, salad and decorated with prawn crackers. Then ice cold fresh watermelon juice and a very strong black sweet Bali Coffee.. which I can tell you absolutely sets you up for the day. I love it!
Then down to work. Checking the schedule of containers to be loaded. See how they are getting on with packing delivered products. Here in Bali the artisans don't do packing. We take deliveries of "finished products" off the back of trucks or in big bamboo baskets. The quality control, barcoding, wrapping and packing in boxes and cartons ready for export is all done in our warehouse. The empty container turns up and all the packing staff become container packers loading the container, usually in the evening because cooler to work.
Indo Update.
Ringo and his team do a vast amount of organising to make it happen. Then our office team do lots of export document preparations and admin stuff to enable the export to even happen.
Check out our Indonesian imports page. As the Homeware - Spring Clean - lets make the house a home - season is upon us.. the natural and beautiful products of Indonesia are perfect. Historically Indonesian products have been most popular in two European countries, but I can see from our sales stats that's changing fast. (see below for the countries).
Valentines is only weeks away.. My Top Picks.
We have so much! AW is definitely your Valentines Supplier of Choice. Not just from Indonesia, we have heaps of fast selling beautiful products perfect this year for Valentines Day.
My picks include.. old favourites (but selling like crazy): Soap Flowers. We also have new Zodiac Products - the perfect gift. Hop Hare Candles (especial "The Lovers") and Gemstone Friendship bracelets - great value - two matching bracelets one for your valentine one for you. When visitors see this in our showroom always a good reaction.
Check our Valentines Page.. but almost everything at AW is a potential "V" gift. Don't forget to make pick-up gift pouches..
New Stock on its way.
There is so much.. containers from Indonesia and China just arrived. Rodrigo and the team are working hard to add the new stuff.
New Year January Sales is also in full swing.. where you could grab some lines for Valentines also.
Anyway I'm sure you are busy.
Wishing you all the best.. more news from Indonesia next week.
Take care.
David
PS
FYI .. Holland and Germany were traditionally the best countries for Indonesian imports. But recently Spain and UK have seen a boom.
