Greetings from Spain

 

Welcome to June, it's officially Summer and the sun is shining.

 

Yes back in Spain after a long time, we arrived yesterday evening on a rawkus hen and stag laden Ryanair flight from Manchester to Malaga. All good humour and long (endless) queues for the toilet, I'm not sure everyone made it haha... it reminds me that this is full on wedding season - and the greatest gift to gift traders everywhere. At AWGifts (our EU distribution) they just had their busiest month ever and totally driven by wedding season gifts, Soap Flowers used by craft people selling next-level.

Plus Father's Day is almost upon us - and happy that our range this year is (don't want to brag) is the BIG DADDY range - the best we have ever had at AW. After a few weeks at HQ - it's nice to leave on a high and head home for a bit.

Last week I was telling you about how if you just join the dots, amazing things can happen, and I'm encouraging our AW teams to do that.. if you missed it you can catch up here.


This week has been a bit of a whirl, a bit of a reshuffle (in fact), after chatting to all the key people at AW, applying a smidgen of radical thinking and a dollop of team reshaping.. I'm hoping that the summer shake-up will inspire more creativity and ultimately more amazing products for your business. The stuff in the pipeline is great, but I want everything to be what you think.. is WTNL! (wow-thats-next-level!) If you have been following this newsletter you will know about the epic tour of Nepal and India (almost 500 new products on the way) my time back in China (another 200) and the steady stream of beautiful things from our team in Indonesia. Add to that our home grown aromatics, soap and bathroom items from AW-Aromatics in Sheffield and you can see why I'm excited about the next few months. Stay with us if you want to be first with the good stuff.

 

In the summer shake-up you might like to welcome Daniella to the Dropshipping team - she has lots of ideas and is excited to take over. Lucy has moved to customer service at AW-Aromatics and is likewise keen to shake things up (in a good way).. 


We just received an Indonesian and China container this week.. with lots of popular things coming back into stock.. (including perfect for Father's Day) Mens Bracelets Sets.  (see below).

Summer-Shake-Up continues..

At AW you will know we have always done things differently. For example you know that we don't do trade shows or employ salespeople. Back in the day, rather than sales reps we used to mail mini catalogues. Then we were the first to start email marketing,  then we were the very first B2B wholesaler to offer online ordering and next day delivery. Amazingly no-one copied us for a couple of years.. and at that time we grew like crazy. 

This newsletter and other email marketing has always been our main way of connecting with our amazing trading partners like you. But I feel most people get their updates from social media, and anyay there is far too much happening around AW for one newsletter on a Friday. Of course we have all the social media accounts.. but we are experimenting with other ways to keep you informed with new deals, product launches and news of currently fast-selling stock.

Greetings from Spain It's a little chilly here but pretty damn cold in the UK and the poor guys in the Sheffield warehouse, (which is too big to heat), are AW Heros working under extreme conditions. David's AW News: Taking on the Mafia

Greetings from Kathmandu, Nepal, where I am taking on the mafia. Last week was crazy, we kicked off with our 29th Birthday celebrations.. AW is 29 years old. 29 years since I sold my first bottle of Lavender Oil on a Sheffield Street market. Since then it's been beyond busy in all our warehouses, the elfs are struggling to keep up - but we will find a way. Anyway I'm on the way home for Christmas (Erm the long way).. On Wednesday I said goodbye to Ringo and Bondhan as they dropped me off at Denpasar airport, I took a Malaysian airways flight to Kuala Lumpur arriving late evening, slept in the most comfortable bed you can imagine at the Sama-Sama airport hotel (short walk and a buggy ride), and early morning checked in for the flight to Kathmandu. Just about the smoothest, trouble free, friendly people, nice food.. best experience ever. Sometimes I love traveling in Asia.   Even as we approached the airport it seemed like the wings were almost touching the magical mountain...

Greetings and a Very Happy New Year from a bright sunny Spain. All the other wholesalers are sending you bright and breezy new year messages... but at AW Artisan let's just for a second face reality. Well here we are, it's 2025. Is that really already a quarter of the way through this century?  You know it seems the world is full of problems, bad news and depressing things seem to surround us. Who the heck knows what the year ahead will bring? For sure though we are all going to face business challenges especially as the increase in National insurance and ever increasing costs bite.  Pesky companies like Temu and Shein continue to steal trade from under our noses. Compliance and regulations complicate and cause unnecessary drag..  Sometimes in Business it just seems like hard work.  Sorry to depress you.   Friends, one thing is true and remains true. If you don't face the future with Bright Optimism and Positive thinking then you have already failed. ...
